A free fair called Hort GIG (Green Industry Graduates), designed to showcase
College of DuPage Horticulture program students who have started their own businesses in the green industry, is scheduled at College of DuPage on Tuesday, March 18, from 4 to 6p.m. Attendees will be able to explore what services or products are available from graduates of the C.O.D. Horticulture program. The fair will be conducted in Building K, West Commons. Program advisers will be on hand to talk about the program and answer questions.
“Horticulture is such a diverse field and Hort GIG is a chance to showcase our former students who have started their own horticulture businesses,”
said Elizabeth Britt, manager of the Horticulture department’s greenhouse.
This fair is a great opportunity for attendees to see the many paths available in horticulture and talk to students who pursued their dreams. Current and potential students can gain great insights from these entrepreneurs who can share the pitfalls and offer real-life suggestions for other students interested in this path.
“If you are considering horticulture as a career, the industry’s diversity that will be on display during the fair will inspire you to follow your passion.”
