Embracing a Localvore Thanksgiving

I was most concerned about the cranberry sauce. I have been cooking Thanksgiving dinner for my family now for twelve years. My cranberry sauce was a highlight and always disappeared first - a heavenly blend of spices, pineapples, oranges, walnuts and cranberries. Now, if I were to totally commit to a localvore Thanksgiving, the cranberry sauce would have to be revamped, minus those tropical fruits.
