Majestic Nursery is an establishment that strives to achieve the highest quality of fresh, seasonal foods and plants. The 5-acre nursery, farm and homestead is family owned and operated. They have encouraged a balance of bio-diversity, while maintaining a piece of land for use in the growth of plants and food. It is important to Majestic Nursery to care for themselves, the earth and the community in keeping a healthy safe and beautiful environment for all. They reserved the back third of their property, along the Fox River, to be left uncultivated. It acts as a natural buffer between the nursery and the river which has allowed native plants to regenerate throughout the area. The plants they grow and install help cleanse the air and water, reduce noise and control erosion.
The Majestic Nursery has a diverse variety of fruiting and flowering plants; the whole property is rich with food and shade for many beneficial predatory and pollinating insects to live as well. They mulch and compost throughout the property, which not only helps conserve water, but requires little weed maintenance, and reduces the air pollution and gas consumption involved in mowing.
They do not use synthetic pesticides, fungicides or herbicides on their herbs or vegetables. They recycle and/or re-use many of their pots and plastic materials and the majority of their organic wastes are composted.
